Graney's Bar & Grill was established on March 8th 2002. After 17 years of bartending I finally opened my own place in Albany, NY. Located on busy New Scotland Ave. and between the city's two main hospitals (St. Peters and Albany Med) we've seen to find an acceptable place in the community.

The first few months were a whirlwind and we successful right away but unfortunately a fire hit Graney's on Oct. 28, 2002. Definitely a day I'd rather forget, but I believe everything happens for a reason and led by the resiliency of my partner, Matt Richardson, and his father Jack (could never thank you guys enough!) we re-opened on August 22, 2003. I'll be honest, I thought about looking elsewhere and maybe starting fresh in a new place, but the public response/demand by our customers convinced me this was our home.

Definitely known for our 28 TV's and great food, the real success behind Graney's is the people that work there. I know I have the best staff that any owner could dream of, and I try to show my appreciation to each and every one of them on a daily basis.

My two managers Nakia Sawyer and Todd Brittell are as loyal and honest as any two people I've ever met and believe me, knowing that they have my back makes it easy to sleep at night. The barmaids and servers (all woman--what can I say!? :) are the finest in the Capital District! What would do without Kristen, Audrey, McKenzie, Amy, Paulette, Shay, Aliza, Jen G., Tina, Jamie and Amber!

Besides all being fantastic workers, some have told me that they fairly attractive too! :) More importantly, they are all great people that I have the privilege of working with; sweet, smart and always there for you customers. What a combination!

The kitchen staff does their best to get you quality food, as quickly as possible and they do a fantastic each and every night. Bob, Mike (AKA Phinney), Forrest, Mark, Sean, Ryan and Eddie bust their hump to make the food a great experience at Graney's!

Not that we need any (because it's so laid back), but our security/barbacks are Brian (AKA Garvey) and John. They help out the girls so much, and are a real asset to the bar!

So that sums it's up and I hope you enjoy our new website. We'll try and update as much as possible and keep you in touch of the goingoings on at your favorite bar & grill!
